Site Privacy
Thank you for visiting the Friends of the Morgan Hill Library (FMHL) Web
site. We are committed to the privacy of our visitors. We strive to
collect no personal information about you when you visit our site unless you
choose to provide that information to us.
Here is how we handle information about your visit to our site.
Cookies: Cookies are small files that Web servers
place on a user's hard drive. Our cookies do not contain any
personally-identifiable information. They are used for collecting daily
site visitor counts and to help steer file access on the Web server based on
links you select in your Web browser. These cookies expire after your
browser session ends or at most after 24 hours, as in the case of the daily
visitor counter cookie.
Information collected and stored automatically: This
site does not collect or store any information about you. If you choose to
make a payment through one of the PayPal links, the PayPal site may collect
information and store additional cookies on your computer, but such information
and cookies are not passed back to the FMHL site.
Information that you voluntarily provide: We do not
collect personally identifiable information unless you choose to provide it to
us. If you provide us with personally identifiable information, for
example, by sending an e-mail or by filling out a form and submitting it through
our Web site, we use that information to respond to your message and to help us
provide you with the information and services that you request. Uses of
that information are described on the Web page containing the form.
Submitting voluntary information constitutes your consent to the use of the
information for the stated purpose. When you click the "submit" button on
any of the Web forms found on our site, you are indicating your voluntary
consent to use of the information you submit for the purpose stated.
FMHL maintains lists of members who, by providing their e-mail address to
FMHL, have consented to receive periodic email updates via a mail list
server. Any recipient of such an FMHL email may unsubscribe from future
messages via a link at the bottom of each email message, or by contacting the
sender directly if a subscription service was not used. We do not sell,
rent, exchange, or otherwise disclose our list of subscribers to persons or
organizations outside of FMHL.
How information is used: The information we collect is
used for a variety of purposes, e.g., to respond to requests for
information, and to renew your FMHL membership. We make an effort to
disclose clearly how information is used at the point where it is collected so
you can determine whether you wish to provide the information.
Retention of Information: We destroy the information
we collect when the purpose for which it was provided has been fulfilled unless
we are required to keep it longer by statute or official policy.
Also, FMHL is not responsible for the privacy practices employed by non-FMHL
sites that may link to the FMHL Web site, e.g., the Santa Clara
County Library system.
Interaction with children: This Web site offers
content suitable for children under 13. No personally identifiable
information is collected from these visitors unless voluntarily submitted as a
request for information or services. The information supplied is used to
respond to the user's inquiries or to provide services requested by the
user.
Links to other sites: Our Web site contains links to
various other organizations. Once you link to another site, you are then
subject to the privacy policies of the new site. It is always a good idea
to read the Privacy Policy of any site you visit.
